Bombay Tarapore Logistic Company is a trusted transport and logistics provider with a legacy of over 50 years. Established in the late 1960s, the company began operations when organized transport services were limited, especially in the Palghar and Tarapore regions.

What started as a small initiative has grown into a strong and reliable logistics network serving Mumbai, Bhiwandi, Vashi, Palghar, and Tarapore MIDC.

Our History

The foundation of the company was laid by Late Shri S. P. Irani, who started transportation work in the Palghar region during the 1960s when the area lacked proper logistics support.

* In 1966, S. P. Irani expanded operations with the support of his brother.

* In 1967, the company was acquired by Ambalal Dhansuk bhai Shah.

* In 1968, Vinod Ambalal Shah joined the business and played a key role in its growth and expansion.

During the early years, the company handled transportation of forest materials like wooden bamboo (sag), especially across Palghar, Wada, Vangaon, and Dahanu areas. This work was recognized and appreciated by forest authorities.

As industrial activity increased, the company expanded into transporting:

Machinery

Coal and tar drums

Fishing nets and engines

Industrial goods

Expansion Phase

In 1969, operations expanded from Mumbai to Palghar, and a dedicated Palghar office was established.

Before the construction of Vasai Creek Bridge, trucks operated through longer internal routes like Bhiwandi–Wada–Manor.

By the 1970s, with the development of Tarapore MIDC, the company became one of the only transporters operating in the area.

We played a key role in transporting:

Raw materials to factories

Finished goods from Tarapore to Mumbai, Bhiwandi, and other regions

Complete industrial setup materials

Growth & Leadership

In 1978, MIDC development accelerated, increasing transport demand.

In 1980, Mr. Vishwas Sapre joined the company.

In 1987, Vinod Shah started a hotel business alongside logistics, showing business diversification.

In 1990, Shailesh Shah joined the company and significantly expanded operations.

Under his leadership:

Fleet strength increased from 10 trucks to 25 trucks

Operations scaled to meet growing industrial demand
